Born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. She began her studies in Geoscience Engineering at Universidad Estatal de Sonora, however, in the middle of her studies, her interest in music led her to simultaneously start musical classes in the workshops of the Universidad de Sonora. Upon finishing her degree in Geosciences Engineering and motivated by her singing teacher in the need to initiate a major study investment, she received a scholarship from the Government of Sonora to move to Spain to study at Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid. ( 2001).
During the first year of her studies, she was invited to participate in the Zarzuela "El huesped del sevillano" at the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao, this would be the first of many leading roles in European theaters. At the end of her music studies, she received the “Lola Rodríguez Aragón” award for being the most outstanding student of her generation.
The main roles of operas such as La Traviata, Rigoletto, Elixir de amor, Die Fledermaus, Don Pasquale, among others, have fallen on her. In addition, and zarzuelas such as The Sevillian's Guest, The African Duo, The Lavapiés Barberillo, Marina, etc.
She has offered concerts in the main venues in Spain such as the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Kursaal in San Sebastián, at the Euskalduna, the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao, the March Foundation Auditorium, Teatro Canal de Madrid and Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid. She also presented the album "Soles y brumas" about songs by the Basque composer Emiliana de Zubeldia in the Manuel M. Ponce de Bellas Artes room with the Spanish pianist Jorge Robaina.Through the Spanish organization "Instituto Cervantes" she has also sung in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, Vienna and Napoles. In October 2006 she participated in the concert for the 150th anniversary of the Teatro de la Zarzuela. She shared the stage with the tenor José Carreras in 2016 at Festival del Pitic that takes place in Hermosillo, Sonora.
She has recorded "La Clementina" by Luigi Boccherinni directed by Pablo Heras-Casado, "Soles y brumas" songs by Emiliana de Zubeldía accompanied by the Spanish pianist Jorge Robaina and "The Juliet letters" by the composer Elvis Costello together with the Latin American Quartet, presented at Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City in 2019.
In The last years Elena has dedicated part of her time to the musical training of children, leading children's choirs in community centers in vulnerable areas of her current city of residence and its surroundings.
